The BBQ - The movie
In February, the Racing Wodonga precinct was lucky enough to be one of the chosen locations for the up and coming new Australian film The BBQ.
With a strong cast, featuring Magda Szubanksi, Shane Jacobson, Julia Zemiro and Manu Fieldel, the film is tipped to become the new Australian classic, and the Racing Wodonga and Showgrounds precinct (and staff!) played a starting role.
The plot is a cracker!
DARREN ‘DAZZA’ COOK is a loveable suburban everyman with a long-established belief that his family is related to Captain James Cook. Dazza harbours a passion for barbequing, but when he accidentally gives his neighbours food poisoning at his popular regular Saturday BBQ, Dazza’s reputation and dignity are on the line. To make amends he seeks tutelage from the tyrannical Scottish chef known simply as THE BUTCHER. Together they enter an international barbecue competition, pitting Dazza’s homespun recipes against the world’s best BBQ chefs.
Albury and Wodonga , and inparticular the Racing Wodonga precinct was privileged to be apart of this unique opportunity.
